Just like its other branch in Station 2, Nigi Nigi Nu, the Nigi Nigi Too resort is a well known establishment in Boracay’s White beach. It’s actually the senior of the two, and has been around for over 20 years now, occupying one of the best beachfront properties in Station 1.

Even though its age is showing, Nigi Nigi Too manages to elegantly pull it off by offering a charming and cozy style. It offers a very good alternative to the fancy and modern 5 star resorts that occupy most of Station 1. If you want to stay at the best part of White Beach, where the beach is wide and much quieter, Nigi Nigi Too is an excellent budget option. Popular among Western tourists, this 3 star resort is perfect for couples, families and small groups of friends.

Our Expert Review

Service [?]

This is a small resort that really makes you feel at home. Within a day or 2 everybody will recognize you and know your name. Many of the staff have been there for years now, and service is professional and friendly.

Very good

Cleanliness [?]

While the rooms are all very clean and well designed, the public areas could use some work. We noticed some areas which were dirty and in need of renovation.

Good

Rooms [?]

The rooms aren't huge, but they are all spacious enough to comfortably fit 3 persons. Each room is fully equipped with all the basic amenities, and everything was working great. The beds in particular are big and very comfortable. That said, some rooms do feel a bit too old and can use a facelift.

Good

Beach and Pool [?]

There's no swimming pool unfortunately, but it's hardly needed as you are literally 2 steps away from the ocean. Nigi Nigi Too has one of the best beach spots in Boracay, a great place to swim at or simply relax on the white sand.

Very good

Location [?]

Fantastic location for people who want to be at White Beach but keep some distance between them and the crowds. While station 1 offers a few bars and restaurants, most of the nightlife is 10-15 minutes walk down the beach. The resort is easy to reach, and you have convenience store and a small shopping center just 1 block away.

Excellent

Value for Money [?]

This hotel is very cheap in station 1 standards, and you get more than what you paid for. The rooms are good and clean, the breakfast is decent and you are just a few steps away from the best beach in the world.

Very good

Unlike its twin in station 2, this isn’t a cottage style resort, but rather a small building with 3 floors. There’s no elevator, so if you have trouble climbing stairs let us know, and we’ll try and secure a ground floor room for you. The resort is placed right at the beach, with tall palm tree and lush gardens surrounding it from all directions. They provide great shade, and contribute to the feeling of tropical paradise.

There are only 20 rooms at Nigi Nigi Too, divided into three categories – Standard, Deluxe and Premier. The first 2 categories also have a family room version, which is slightly bigger and has a different bed setup, better suited to accommodate a small family. All rooms have air conditioning, free WiFi, mini fridge and a safety deposit box.

The rooms are all very well designed and really give a feeling of comfort and coziness. Smoking isn’t allowed inside the rooms, but all of them have a small veranda so it’s no problem. Breakfast is included in the price of the room, and you can even ask to have it there with no extra charge. The non-family rooms aren’t huge, but they are well organized and can easily fit 3 people.

Do Guests like Nigi Nigi Too?

Despite the fact this resort has been around for so many years, there's a surprisingly small amount of information available online. We went through everything we could find, to try and provide you with as much as information as possible. We do however feel that the information presented at some booking sites is misleading, and therefore leads to unsatisfied customers.

So, we prefer to mainly rely on our own experience of knowing and working with the owners. We are able to combine our knowledge of the other resorts they own, to get a good idea of the general level of standards of quality and service which they strive to maintain. With that in mind, we are certain that as long as you understand what you are paying for, you are sure to have a positive experience staying at Nigi Nigi Too.

There are 292 reviews on Tripadvisor.com, with an average rating of 4.5 stars. Only 4% of guests rated their stay at the resort as "below average", while more than half gave the highest score possible. People really liked the perfect location by the beach, the breakfast and the friendliness of the staff. Most common complaints were about the lack of swimming pool, and furniture inside rooms looking tired and outdated.

There are only 96 reviews on booking.com, with an average of 8.4, which is good sign but hardly qualifies as a representative sample. Agoda.com on the other hand, shows 410 reviews with an average rating of 8.4 as well. They falsely present Nigi Nigi as a 4 star resort, which we are sure must have a negative impact on the its score. Reviewers really liked the location and the value for money this hotel represents. We found recurring complaints regarding the slow WiFi inside rooms, and the rooms being too old.

This resort has very clear advantages, which made most guests like it a lot:

  • Amazing location – best part of the beach
  • Big clean rooms
  • Good breakfast and friendly service

There are some problems as well, which you better know about in advance:

  • Rooms are outdated and need renovation
  • No swimming pool
  • Unstable WiFi, especially inside the rooms

The resort has a beachfront bar, which also functions as the restaurant. Breakfast is served there, but you can also take it in your room instead. They offer a choice between English, Continental and American breakfast – with unlimited amount of eggs. If you want something else from the menu for breakfast, it’s all free up to a limit of 340PHP. Lunch and dinner are served a la carte, and it’s actually one of the best places to eat Western food in Boracay. If you want a full board, it costs 35$ a day.

There are no extra facilities such as a gym or a spa. They do work with an external salon however, so you can book a treatment through the reception. You can have your massage either inside your room or by the beach. On top of that, they also offer laundry service at very affordable prices which is always nice. Activities such as parasailing, snorkeling and horseback riding can be arranged for an additional charge. The resort is also one of the few that rents bicycles, so you can grab one and take an independent tour of the island.

To conclude, this is a very basic resort that focuses on providing a homely and comfortable experience to its guests. They are well accustomed to dealing with Western tourists, and understand what’s important and what’s not. For a relatively low price, you will get everything you need in order to have a great time in Boracay’s White Beach. Thanks to that, Nigi Nigi Too is the perfect budget solution for those who wish to stay at Station 1.
