The Levantin Resort is a 2 star guesthouse accommodation in Bulabog Beach in Boracay. It’s a very well maintained family-run resort, with a friendly and peaceful atmosphere. Located directly on the beach, it’s a great choice for those who wish to stay in a less developed area of Boracay. Don’t let the 2 star rating fool you, this is a boutique resort where you will feel all your needs are being catered to very well. Keep in mind Bulabog is a 15-20 minutes walk from White beach, so you’ll probably need to grab a ride if you’d like to get there during the day.

Even though Bulabog isn’t nice as White Beach, it’s still a beautiful place to stay at – especially if you wake up early enough to catch the sun rise. Strong winds all year round also make it a great place for water sports, especially kite surfing. Even though Levantin is located right in the middle of Bulabog, it’s still very quiet and peaceful. This resort is highly recommended for anyone who want to enjoy a relaxing time in Boracay, and find a good, yet cheap, place to stay at.

Our Expert Review

Service [?]

This is a very small resort where every guest gets personal attention. The staff are very friendly, and the owner is almost always there. Everyone working there will do their best to make you feel like you are at home.

Excellent

Cleanliness [?]

Even though it's a small cozy resort, Levantin has a really nice vibe to it. Everything is clean and there's a lot of attention given to all the small details, giving the resort a feeling of a boutique hotel.

Very good

Rooms [?]

The rooms are bigger than usual, especially if you compare it to properties at White Beach where land prices are much higher. They all have a simple design, but include all the important things – the bed is large and comfortable, and so is the shower area.

Very good

Beach and Pool [?]

There's no swimming pool in this hotel, but since your room is only a few steps away from the beach it's not the end of the world.

Good

Location [?]

The location within Bulabog is excellent – right in the middle and close to everything. It's also very easy to reach from the port or from D'Mall in White Beach for example. Bulabog is good for people who intentionally want to be far from the center, so take that into account.

Good

Value for Money [?]

One of the best reasons to stay at Bulabog beach is the much lower rates compared to White Beach. Among resorts in this location, Levantin offers one of the best deals. You get a very nice beach resort with great rooms, tasty food and a fantastic atmosphere for very competitive rates.

Excellent

The first thing we knew about Levantin was that their bar is considered one of the best places to go to at night in Bulabog. We were a bit weary of working with them since we thought the place might be too simple and basic to fit our client’s needs. When we got there we realized that even though the resort is definitely simple, there’s nothing basic about it at all.

The whole place is very charming, comfortable and peaceful. It’s actually one of the very few beach resorts we found anywhere in Boracay, which really gives the feeling of a homely beach resort in a lost paradise. This is the place you think about it when you dream of being with your loved ones in a relaxing private beach setting.

We were further impressed when we actually got to see the rooms. There’s a total of only 19 of them, which helps sustain the friendly and personal service. They are all big, clean and very comfortable. Each room comes with air conditioning, a fairly large TV with cable channels, Free WiFi and a mini fridge. We especially liked the separate shower room – it was spacious and the equipment was all new and working well – hot shower and a strong flow are hard to find in Boracay.

This place is popular among European tourists, who seem to prefer the laid back ambiance. Couples and older people will surely enjoy it as well. We say that since staying at Bulabog will make going on day tours a bit harder, so it’s ideal for people who prioritize spending time relaxing at the beach. If you know your dream vacation in Boracay is mostly about laying on the beach drinking a cold cocktail, then Levantin is one of the best choices available.

Do Guests like Levantin?

As mentioned, Levantin is a well known establishment in Bulabog. Many people first come there thanks to the excellent bar and restaurant. Then they get a chance to see how nice the resort itself is, and decide to spend some time there. We know firsthand this is a fantastic place to stay at, and everyone we sent there have said the same.

That said, there are some clear disadvantages to staying at Bulabog, and in Levantin in particular. We feel that a lot of complaints from guests originated from the fact the place was misrepresented to them and they came with the wrong expectations. That is why it's very important you read this review carefully, and understand exactly what this place is like.

There are only 153 reviews of Levantin over at Tripadvisor.com, with an average star rating of 4.5. No less than 88% of guests rated their stay as above average, and only 3% were left disappointed. People really liked the relaxing atmosphere and the personal service they received. The very few complaints we found were from 2015 so we don't feel they are really relevant.

We also found 295 reviews at Booking.com, where the resort enjoys an average rating of 8.4. we have to say the pictures there are misleading – Levantin is very nice but not like that, it's more rustic and basic in its design. Booking's users really liked the service and the food, and the rooms were also praised for being large and clean. The repeating complaint was about the quality of WiFi signal, but overall everyone agreed this is a great value for money resort.

The most reviews online are at Agoda.com, with no less than 510 different ones and an average rating of 8. We feel part of the reason for the low score is that Agoda mistakenly rates Levantin as a 3 star resort. In any case, people still liked the service and the value they got for their money. Some complaints were made about WiFi and the amount of mosquitoes. The breakfast also received mixed reviews here.

There are some very big pluses to staying at Levantin:

  • Quiet and peaceful beachfront location
  • Big clean rooms
  • Great value for money

On the other hand, the minuses are also quite clear:

  • Far from White Beach
  • No facilities such as pool, spa etc..
  • Weak WiFi

Levantin is a family owned business and is managed by owners Hans and Dian. They are usually there, so if something is wrong you can always speak to them. While this isn’t a fancy luxury resort, and the amount of services they offer is limited, we are 100% they would do everything they can to help you out. This is a place that really puts an emphasis on service, also evident by they fact they personally reply to each review guests post online.

Keep in mind that you’ll have a few minutes walk through an alley from where the van drops you off until you reach the beach itself. Sadly there’s not much to be done about it, and the road can sometimes be muddy and dirty so it’s better if you wear shoes the day you get there. The resort also has a few pets – a few dogs and cats, so if you are allergic or just don’t like animals so much, this can be a reason to book a room somewhere else.

Breakfast is included in the price of the room, and it’s quite decent. You can get it anytime between 6:30 and 10am. The restaurant also has quite a diverse lunch and dinner menus – the food is decent and the prices are fair. The real highlight here is the bar though, which offers a very wide selection of cocktails and drinks.

To sum it up, Levantin is one of the best resort to stay at in Bulabog beach. If you are looking for a peaceful place, where you can relax and avoid the crowds, this place is perfect for you. With large clean beds, a great bar and an overall friendly and comfortable atmosphere, Levantin is the ultimate value for money resort in Boracay’s Bulabog beach.

Room types

Deluxe Room

This is the most basic room category, and also the smallest one – with only 21m2 of space. Still, it’s very comfortable for a couple or friends travelling together, and comes with either a queen size bed or 2 singles. There are only 3 deluxe rooms in the resort, so it’s better to book them as early as you can.

Superior Room

the superior room is slightly bigger – 23m2 of space. It comes with your choice of either 1 queen size bed or 2 single beds. The extra space allows for a more comfortable seating area to be arranged.

Family Room

The family room is 32m2 and has 1 queen size bed. An extra single bed can be added and so the room can easily accommodate 3 adults.
