Our Expert Review

Service [?]

The staff is very friendly, polite and attentive to guests. They are willing to go the extra mile to ensure that their guests are comfortable and satisfied.

Excellent

Cleanliness [?]

The resort is fairly small with only 21 rooms and so it is easy to keep the whole place clean and tidy at all times. Daily housekeeping is observed and the swimming pool is cleaned on a weekly basis.

Very good

Rooms [?]

There is no shortage of space in this resort. The beds are big enough and comfortable. The rooms are really spacious perfect for families and big groups and are evenly distributed to have the nice view of the pool. However, There are only limited toiletries provided and there is no fridge or free water.

Good

Beach and Pool [?]

The swimming pool is big and the focal highlight of the resort. The water is cleaned every week. Located at the center of the resort, all rooms have the pool view.

Good

Location [?]

Rema Tourist Inn is located in the middle of the city so it is easily accessible. There are bars and restaurants close to the vicinity. It is also a bit far from the busy road which makes it ideal because there is no traffic noise at all.

Very good

Value for Money [?]

We cannot stress it enough but Rema Tourist Inn gives more than what you pay for. The rooms are priced at a fraction of what you pay for in most 3-star resorts but you already have free breakfast, free airport transfer and you get to enjoy the large space, superb swimming pool, fast WI-FI connection and a modern high-class ambiance.

Excellent

Although the location of Rema Tourist Inn is in the middle of the city, guests still enjoy lush greenery and a bit of a forest as the property is a bit off the road. The green environment makes it possible for you to just relax and savor the fresh air and cozy ambiance. At night, the place is great for viewing the stars. You can also ride a tricycle and within 10 minutes you are already at the center of the city.

Additional services that Rema offers are: on-call massage, in-room service, on call laundry and dry cleaning and tour assistance. Since Rema is not a hotel, guests can expect some limitation in terms of toiletries (they do not provide tooth brush and tooth paste) and there is also no complimentary water, maybe because there is no fridge in the rooms. Apparently, the place is pet-friendly and they also have designated places for smoking but certainly not in the rooms.

Do Guests Like Rema Tourist Inn?

As a fairly new property, Rema Tourist Inn doesn’t have a lot of reviews online. The place isn't even listed in Booking.com yet. That said, anyone we sent there came back with only warm words regarding the service and overall experience.

With Agoda.com, there are only 269 reviews so far but the comments are mostly positive. The score is 8.5 which is excellent. Most customers complimented Rema’s staff, swimming pool, the ambiance and the good views. In TripAdvisor, there are only 69 reviews and the rating is 4. Additionally, 45% of the reviewers had an awesome experience while 1% had a terrible stay.

Guests also complimented the free breakfast. Although it is not buffet style, there are 6 options to choose from and the food will be prepared freshly in the morning. The tricycle ride from the resort is quite pricey so it is good to walk instead or rent a motorbike or scooter for more convenience. Reception area is also not open for 24 hours so late arrivals should be properly informed to the staff.

What do guests love about Rema Tourist Inn?

  • Value for money
  • Spacious rooms and comfy beds
  • Excellent service and friendly staff
  • Surprisingly fast Wi-Fi

Some of the issues raised by guests are:

  • Location is quite far from the road
  • No complimentary water, tooth paste and tooth brush
  • Bath towels are of low quality
  • No in-house facilities except for the pool and restaurant

We highly recommend Rema Tourist Inn for families and big groups. It is also suitable for backpackers because the room rates are very affordable. This place is without a doubt one of the best choices for anyone looking to save money while sleeping in Puerto Princesa. This hotel is just as nice as other budget options in the city, such as the Microtel by Wyndham and Floral Villarosa.

The resort is also admirable because they strive to respond to negative comments posted about them online with professionalism and they use those negative comments to improve their facilities and service. So, if you are tight on a budget but still want to enjoy a spacious room and high-class environment, Rema Tourist Inn is the perfect place to stay at.
