Description

Tucked away in a secret spot among the mangroves, Blue Palawan Beach Club is a 3.5 stars beachfront, one of the few with white sand in the city of Puerto Princesa. Here, you will be able to live the perfect beach life, relax and enjoy the beautiful sunrise. There are only a handful of beachfront properties in Puerto Princesa and most of them are quite expensive. Fortunately, Blue Palawan Beach Club belongs to the mid-range category and so it can be a great option for those who have the money but still not keen on splurging too much.

The resort is 15 minutes away from the airport and only 5 minutes away from the city center. Upon arrival, you will be ushered to the reception desk which is open 24 hours and given a refreshing welcome drink. The Blue Palawan experience is focused on 2 things that make your vacation perfect – thoughtfulness and balance. This means that from the smallest details to the bigger ones, the resort is designed to give you comfort and convenience.

That said, the downside of the beach is that it is not ideal for swimming. It is more of a bay connected to a mangrove area, so be prepared to spend most of your time on the beach itself without entering the waters too much. Still, Blue Palawan offers a unique experience to people who want to be close to the sea, and engage in watersport activities.
[expert_review] Blue Palawan is perfect for couples and families who have a little bit of money to spare but not really looking to spend extravagantly. Honeymooners will definitely enjoy the modern and romantic ambiance of the rooms while families and groups can take advantage of the generous space provided.

It is also ideal for water sports fanatics as the waters are perfect for kiteboarding, kayaking, wakeboarding, surfing, scuba diving and paddle boarding. You can enjoy complimentary use of non-motorized water equipment like kayaks and paddle boards. If you are interested to learn and do some kiteboarding, the resort offers lessons for beginners and the shallow waters provide for safe water sports activities.

The resort offers free shuttle to and from the airport. There is also complimentary breakfast which serves a generous array of western and local cuisines served buffet-style. However, there are not enough options for vegetarians. The infinity pool is open and breezy but it can get really hot during the day. The in-house restaurant serves different variety of dishes to satisfy your culinary cravings and it is important to note that the portions are really generous which is highly commendable. Other services include: laundry and dry cleaning, on-call massage, gift shop, free parking and free Wi-Fi which is surprisingly strong in most days. There is also a bar and a lounge that serves good cocktails and different wines and beers.
[pros_cons] Blue Palawan is ideal for couples and groups who enjoy water sports activities. Beachfront properties are rare in Puerto Princesa but the beach is not really a beach for swimming, just a bay connected to the mangrove area. The most expensive room in this property is a suite which is perfect for couples and honeymooners but if you want to splurge we recommend Dos Palmas or Princesa Garden, where you can get more for your money. If you are looking forward to a beach for swimming, look for hotels in Sabang instead, such as Daluyon and Sheridan for example.

Overall, Blue Palawan is a very good resort with a nice location. If you are willing to spend and prefers kayaking and water sports instead of just beach bumming, then this place is perfect for you.
